It's the weekend! You've worked hard to get to this point, so you deserve to play hard, too. We've curated our favorite events happening around Austin for the next few days, from pop-ups to festivals to grand openings—all you have to do is round up your crew. Have a great weekend, y'all!

Fri 17

2017 Wizard World Austin Comic Con
Get out your wands, your sabers and your capes as tens of thousands of fans descend upon the convention center to celebrate anime, manga, horror, comics and more. You might run into some familiar faces: Kate Beckinsale, Val Kilmer and Dean Cain are all scheduled as guests. Fri at 4pm, Sat & Sun at 10am

Sat 18

East Austin Studio Tour
This annual self-guided tour comes back for a second (and final!) weekend on Saturday and Sunday, giving locals the opportunity to explore East Austin’s vibrant artistic community by popping into studios, galleries and homes over two weekends. Sat & Sun 11am-6pm

Hops for Hope
Beer, art, good feelings all around—there are many reasons you should check out Hops for HOPE, run by the good folks who manage the HOPE Outdoor Gallery. Peruse work from more than 20 artists while sipping on samples from 20 breweries, all the while knowing that your ticket donation is supporting some pretty kick-ass programs, like the HOPE Farmers Market and HOPE for Senegal. Sat & Sun 3-9pm

Maureen Dowd and Carl Hulse In Conversation
Joined by New York Times chief Washington correspondent Carl Hulse, columnist Maureen Dowd offers her take on current events like politics, Congress and, oh, perhaps the president. Sat at 8pm

John Hodgman
This Daily Show contributor, author and comedian takes the Austin stage courtesy of Moontower Comedy. Expect answers to questions like "Is a hot dog a sandwich?" and "Should we tell our children the truth about Santa Claus?" Sat at 8pm

Sun 19

Texas Harvest Wine Festival
Celebrate Texas wine harvest season at Wine for the People's Texas Harvest Wine Festival! Modeled after France's Beaujolais Nouveau festivities, the event features three Texas wines from winemaker Rae Wilson, with ticket proceeds going towards the California wildfire relief. In addition to wine and h'ors deuvres, there will also be a local artisan market, a photo booth, and a DJ. Snag tickets here for some weekend sipping! Sun 4-7pm

A Tuna Christmas
Get in the holiday spirit with a hilarious, out-there Christmas play—that doesn't involve The Nutracker! Jaston Williams directs this Christmas romp about Tuna, the third smallest town in Texas.
