Change of plans, guys: If you were thinking about celebrating Pride this weekend, Hurricane Harvey has other plans for you. Both the Parade and Festival have been canceled, with no rescheduled dates set in stone.

The cancellation was announced on Austin Pride's Facebook page, stating:

"It with a heavy heart that we announce the Annual Festival and Parade are being rescheduled. We know how much everyone had their hearts set on tomorrow's Celebration, however the safety and security of everyone attending and participating in PRIDE is paramount in our plans for a successful PRIDE Celebration. With that said, we are working with the City of Austin's various departments to reschedule the PRIDE Festival and Parade. Contrary to dates that have been mentioned, no dates have been confirmed. We will of course announce the new dates as soon as they are available. As much as the track of the storm changed on a daily basis, we hoped for the best and tried to stay optimistic, however this decision wasn't really a decision at all. When it comes to the safety and security of everyone involved, the Austin PRIDE Board and Co-Chairs take that matter very seriously. We look forward to seeing you soon! With Love, Austin PRIDE."

We'll keep you updated on when both the parade and festival will be rescheduled. Stay tuned!
