Austin is used to being number one on a lot of lists—best place to live, best place to raise a family, best place for a bachelor party—and this weekend, we can add another notch to our belt: hottest effing city ever.

How hot is this heat wave we're in? Tomorrow the temperature is going to hit 104 degrees. Cairo is going to be 101 degrees. Yeah, Austin is going to be hotter than the Egyptian capital tomorrow.

The National Weather Service states that Friday's projected temps are going to match a record set in 1995, though with the humidity it'll feel even hotter—around 107 to 108 degrees. Saturday is projected to reach 105, while Sunday it'll drop down to a cool (ha!) 100 degrees. The NWS has recommended that Travis County residents take special note to check up on their elderly neighbors and those without AC, and said that a heat advisory may go into effect.

The most important ways to combat the sweltering heat are to stay indoors, rest in the shade, limit outdoor activity and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, but beyond that you may want to hit up some of the best water parks near Austin, snag yourself a day pass to a swanky pool or soothe your soul with some of the city's best ice cream. Or you could lay on your couch and binge watch your favorite TV show, which sounds like a pretty standard (and relaxing) weekend to us.
