Common sense says to stay indoors during July's scorching temps, but you'll want to venture out for at least a couple nights next month. Hot Summer Nights is hitting the Red River Cultural District from July 13 to 16, a new—and free!—music series that offers some fantastic shows in your favorite music venues (sans cover).

Ten of the area's best venues are participating, including Mohawk, Barracuda, Stubb's, Empire Control Room & Garage, Side Bar, Waller Creek Pub House and more. And the bands? The lineup is pretty legit, with performances by The Octopus Project, Magna Carda, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Mike and the Moonpies and upwards of 100 additional acts. There's a lot going on, so your best bet is to check out each venue's site for individual schedules.

Local restaurants and shops are also participating—Hoboken Pie and Shawarma Point are offering discounted deals, as are businesses like Exploded Records Store. Attendees will find food trucks and vendors scattered throughout the fest, which will run from 10am on July 13 to 11pm on July 16. The best part? You can leave your wallet at home (err, I mean, don't forget your ID).

Check out the full lineup below and be sure to visit each venue's site for show dates and times.
