Spring has officially sprung, and nowhere in Austin is it more evident than by the fields of bluebonnets that have bloomed by the side of highways, across meadows and on campus grounds. The Texas state flower has popped up especially early this year, giving everyone a few extra weeks to schedule those ubiquitous family portraits among the flowers. Need to inject a little color into your day? Here are some of our favorite Instagram photos from the Austin area—plus, where to find these beautiful blooms.

So where can you go to score your own sweet shot? Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center is a solid bet, as are the grounds at St. Edward's University. A couple spots off the highway, including Capital of Texas Highway/Loop 360, sport some colorful blooms—just be careful when pulling over. A little further outside of the city, Brushy Creek Lake Park is already filled with bluebonnets. Where are you going to see the bloom this year? Let us know in the comments below!
