If you're one of the cyclists planning on riding your bike to work on Friday, May 19, for Bike to Work Day, good on ya. If you're not, perhaps a handful of sweet perks for the event might convince you.
Bike to Work Day is pretty self-explanatory: Run by Bike Austin, the event encourages residents to make their Friday commute on two wheels, while also celebrating bicycle safety and advocacy. For some, the ride can be quite a haul—which is where the fueling stations come in.
Over 40 stations will be located throughout Austin on Friday from 7-9:30am, offering everything from beer to massages to tacos. At Houndstooth Coffee's downtown location, you'll be able to score a free, 12-ounce iced coffee on their patio. Bikealot is partnering with Austin Massage Company to offer "body tune-ups" (don't be weird, it's just a massage), Flyrite Chicken will hand out free tall-boy Lonestar Beer to cyclists through the drive-thru at its 7th Street or Burnet locations, and Jugo is offering participating riders free pressed juice.
If you've already picked up the B2WD passport, be sure to get it stamped as you hit up each fueling station. And save some energy for the after party—at 5pm on Friday, cyclists can stop by the Google Fiber Space for complimentary Hops & Grain beer and bites from Verts.
