If you think Austin has plenty of hotel construction going on already, well, tell that to ARRIVE hotels. The boutique brand just broke ground on its second location (the first is in Palm Springs), and while it may be a while before guests can start checking in—spring 2019, to be exact—it's already poised to be a significant addition to East Austin's growing hospitality scene.
The 58,600-square-foot space will be located at the corner of 6th and Chicon streets, and is expected to offer 83 rooms in addition to two restaurants and bars, retail and coffee shops. There will also be event and meeting spaces (the hotel is a hop, skip and a jump away from the Convention Center) and an outdoor courtyard. A slew of local designers and architects are working on the project, including co-developers Alexa Management, Big Red Dog engineering, EyeLikeDesign and interiors by Chris Pardo Design.
Sound pretty standard? Not entirely. There isn't a front desk at ARRIVE; instead, guests check in and communicate with staff via text or at the bar. It's an introvert's dream come true.
Rooms will start at around $199 per night, but if that seems a little steep, consider another recent East Austin's addition: Native Hostel, which just opened as an affordable, trendy place to catch some shut-eye.
