Here's the thing about traditions: You can always add a new one later in life. For those who think the holiday season in Austin means a visit to the Trail of Lights, the Armadillo Bazaar and a Nutcracker performance, we're about to shake things up a bit. There's a new holiday tradition in town, and it involves human snow globes.
Winter Wonderland premiers at Circuit of the Americas on December 1 and 2, then returns on December 8 and will continue throughout the holidays until December 30. In the words of SNL's Stefan, it has everything: A petting zoo. Holiday movies on the lawn. A walking light trail. A human snow globe. Santa's workshop. A tunnel of lights. Did we mention the lights? Yeah, there's approximately one million of them.
Ticket prices start at $16 (purchase them here), but you can also add experiences to your package, like a hot air balloon ride, skating on a giant ice skating rink, camel rides and photos with Santa Claus. Fuel up with hot cocoa, food trucks and seasonal beverages, and get some early Christmas shopping done at a Bavarian Village. We don't always make time for new traditions, but when we do, we prefer hot cocoa to be involved. See you in Wonderland!
Winter Wonderland is located at Circuit of the Americas, and will be open Dec 8–30 (Sun-Thu 6-10pm, Fri-Sat 6-11pm including Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. $16, children under 6 free.
