Violet Crown Social Club

Violet Crown is one of the best and cheapest neighborhood bars in Austin. They have dive-bar prices on local and craft beer on draft, cheap domestic bottles and a decent selection of vodka and whiskey. But if you feel like experimenting, try signature drink the ‘Iron Whip’, an orange creamsicle-flavored frozen slush that was named as an homage to the bar’s former incarnation, the Iron Gate Lounge. The lighting is dim inside, while outside the patio overflowing with 20- and 30-somethings. As if that wasn’t good enough, Via 313 Pizza—a.k.a. the best pizza in Austin—has a trailer outside that will hand deliver Detroit-style pizza by the slice or pie to you in the bar.
