The fact that Art Smith, perhaps best known as Oprah’s former personal chef, has two spots in the Buckhead IC is enough to get you there, but then there’s also the upper-class environs, including a mansion-esque courtyard, spacious hallways, tasteful decor and a primetime Peachtree location that lets you walk or take a quick ride to some of Atlanta’s most elite shopping experiences (Lenox, Phipps, Buckhead Atlanta). Back to the food: Southern Art has delicious chicken and dumplings, great biscuits, a ham bar with mouth-melting charcuterie and more, while Bourbon Bar has exactly what you expect (small-batch American whiskey) in a wide variety. You’re actually more likely to spy A-Listers at InterCon than other hotels, possibly because there’s a chilling effect on stragglers when you hit the $4,300-per-night rate on marble-foyer-decked Presidential suites, but you can still book a solid room for under $200.
