Raise your hand if you've ever made it a point to visit a Chick-fil-A joint on a holiday in the United States. The American fast food chain is popular for its delicious chicken sandwiches and impeccable service, but has always been a little out of reach for those based in Asia. Of its 3000 stores and counting, not one is in the region – until 2025 that is.

Chick-fil-A (pronounced "chick fillet") announced today that it will open its first Asian outpost on the sunny island of Singapore. We've been getting hints about this since March, with speculation growing stronger with the three-day Chick-fil-A pop-up in Singapore, which saw more than 1000 Original Chick-fil-A chicken sandwiches flying out the fryer. It's nice to get the news confirmed, though you'll have to wait till late 2025 before the Singapore store opens.

If you're unfamiliar with Chick-fil-A, it is only the third largest fast food chain in the US by sales, trailing McDonald's and Starbucks. A privately owned and family-run business, the chain restaurant is well-regarded for the high-quality ingredients that go into simple but delicious chicken sandwiches, featuring deep-fried boneless chicken breast with dill pickle chips between toasted buns. Charmingly, the chain puts great stock in warm, friendly service (there's the sincere "my pleasure" whenever you thank an employee) and community engagement – evidenced by its fundraiser for a local philanthropy and engagement organisation during its pop-up in Singapore earlier this year.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Chick-fil-A has implemented a $1 billion plan to expand in Asia and Europe by 2030, which—fingers crossed—could signal more outlets in the region to come. But not so fast. Watch this space for updates on where and when the first Asia outpost will open.
