It's been 24 years since the first Harry Potter movie was released (and longer still since the first book was published), but the franchise's magic hasn't diminished. And especially not in China, which will welcome its first-ever Harry Potter Studio Tour in Shanghai in 2027.
Warner Bros. Discovery has teamed up with Chinese tourism and hospitality company Jinjiang International to bring the attraction to Jinjiang Action Park, an amusement park set to reopen in 2027 after renovations.
If you're curious about what you can experience at the upcoming attraction, you just have to look at the Harry Potter Studio Tours in London and Tokyo for an idea. Look forward to super-immersive sets modelled after iconic scenes in the Harry Potter films – that could mean a meander through Diagon Alley or magical encounters in the Forbidden Forest. Ever wondered how the movie makers created such realistic props, costumes, and special effects? The Harry Potter Studio Tour will also take you behind the scenes to see all the filmmaking magic.
The Harry Potter Studio Tour in Shanghai is expected to span 53,000 square metres – Warner Bros. Discovery recommends setting aside at least a half-day to explore the attraction. If that's not enough for you, you can always tack on a visit to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter attraction at Universal Studios Beijing.
