A whopping 15 hotels in Asia named in this year's World's 50 Best Hotels list

You're never spoilt for choice when it comes to accommodations in Asia. The region's diverse cities and landscapes lend themselves to an awesome variety of hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments in some of the most breathtakingly scenic spots you can find. True enough, Asia shines in this year's World's 50 Best Hotels list – with a respectable 15 hotels from across the region recognised in the prestigious line-up.

In fact, the very best hotel in the world is right here in Asia. Taking the top spot is Capella Bangkok, a tranquil luxury hotel on the Chao Praya River in the Charoenkrung district. This is where you can take a proper break from Bangkok's relentless energy. Its 101 rooms, suites, and villas have been tastefully designed with clean lines and soothing colours and often feature sweeping river views. The best part is the seven riverside villas, each with an outdoor jacuzzi plunge pool, daybed, and open-air bathroom. Three other hotels in Bangkok are named in the list: Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (#12), which has delighted guests with its award-winning dining venues and world-class spa for close to 150 years; Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Praya River (#14), an ultra-sexy urban oasis with a gorgeous tiered pool, lush Mediterranean gardens, and the excellent BKK Social Club; and The Siam (#26), an Art Deco dream that's welcomed guests like Mick Jagger and Meryl Streep. This brings the city's representation up to four – the most of any Asian city. 

Hong Kong and Singapore also punch above their weight with two hotels each. Hong Kong's Rosewood Hong Kong is 2024's third-best hotel in the world, followed by the lofty The Upper House at #5. Singapore's grand dame, Raffles Singapore, is not far behind at #6, with stylish resort Capella Singapore swinging in at #33. Japan clocks two hotels on the list: Aman Tokyo at #7 and Bulgari Tokyo at #22. From Indonesia, we have Nihi Sumba at #10 and Desa Potato Head at #21. 

Soneva Fushi (#8) and Suján Jawai (#43), representing the Maldives and Rajasthan, round out Asia's list.
