The global festival circuit might revolve around names like Coachella, Glastonbury and Tomorrowland. But Asia’s festival scene is catching up fast, with music lovers travelling across the region for everything from sunrise beach raves and underground electronic gatherings to massive rock and pop spectacles.

The momentum is only growing. Tomorrowland is landing in Asia for the first time this December in Thailand, with tickets reportedly selling out in under an hour. Some of the festivals on this list are long-running heavyweights with near-mythical status, while others are newer additions quickly earning their place on the circuit. If you’re the type who plans trips around lineups and dancefloors, here are our picks of the best festivals in Asia to put on your 2026 calendar.

Best music festivals in Asia in 2026

1. Day Zero Bali, Indonesia

Electronic music fans in the region have a new festival to add to their radar. Day Zero is making its Asian debut in Bali, bringing the cult gathering’s signature blend of music, mythology and immersive art to GWK Cultural Park. First launched in 2012 by DJ and curator Damian Lazarus to mark the end of the Mayan calendar, the festival has since grown into a globally beloved event known for its boundary-pushing sound and transformative atmosphere. Add on a sacred location with one of the world's tallest monumental statues, and you get the festival of a lifetime.

This isn’t a typical one-night rave, and rightfully so. Day Zero Bali unfolds as a week-long journey across the island, with each day revealing a new setting and mood. Expect sunset sessions, late-night ceremonies and even a special sunrise moment, all set against Bali’s dramatic landscapes. The lineup features international electronic heavyweights, including Acid Pauli, Jan Blomqvist and Eduardo Castillo, alongside a curated mix of artists and collaborators guiding the experience from dusk till dawn.

Dates: April 14-19, 2026
Venue: GWK Cultural Park
Tickets: From Rp1,650,000

2. Organik Festival, Taiwan

Taipei’s underground electronic scene runs on a strong DIY pulse – think temple raves, basement dancefloors and experimental club nights that have built a close-knit community of techno and left-field music fans. That same energy spills out to the coast each year for Organik Festival, one of Asia’s most beloved underground gatherings, which returns for its 13th edition on Secret Island. It’s a secluded peninsula defined by rugged terrain and sweeping sea views.

The festival unfolds across three distinct stages, each with its own atmosphere. The Organik Stage sits dramatically between mountain and sea, while Red Pillars channels a ruin-like setting for late-night sessions. Over at Golden Arc, a greenhouse-style dancefloor offers a more intimate groove. Blending international artists with Taiwan’s fast-growing local scene – and guided by resident collective Smoke Machine’s sonic direction – Organik feels less like a typical festival and more like a weekend-long snapshot of Taiwan’s ever-evolving electronic culture.

Dates: April 24-26, 2026
Venue: No. 15, Xiayuankeng, Shimen Dist., New Taipei City 253, Taiwan (R.O.C.)
Tickets: From NT$5,423.75

Southeast Asia’s largest heavy music festival, Hammersonic, has become a major pilgrimage point for metal, punk and alternative fans across the region. Held in Jakarta – a city that also hosts the EDM juggernaut Djakarta Warehouse Project – the festival shows there’s far more to Indonesia’s live music scene than rave culture alone.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the Jakarta festival brings together multiple stages packed with high-octane performances. Expect mosh pits and screaming sing-alongs from bands like Parkway Drive, New Found Glory and Memphis May Fire, alongside a lineup that champions the full spectrum of heavy music. Over the past decade, Hammersonic has become a key gathering point for the region’s rock and metal community, with past headliners including giants like Slipknot and Megadeth.

4. A State of Trance, Vietnam & Hong Kong

Global trance phenomenon A State of Trance (ASOT) is heading to Asia in 2026 as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, bringing the iconic electronic music brand to Hong Kong and Vietnam. Founded by Armin van Buuren in 2001 as a radio show, ASOT has since grown into a massive international festival series. For many fans, it’s also synonymous with the golden era of trance – think hands-in-the-air moments to classics like 'In and Out of Love'.

The anniversary tour kicks off with ASOT Hong Kong on June 12, 2026, taking place at AsiaWorld-Expo’s Hall 3, before heading to Ho Chi Minh City on June 13 for the event’s first-ever full festival edition in Vietnam. Set in Van Phuc City, the Vietnam stop marks a major milestone for trance fans in the region, promising the signature large-scale production, euphoric melodies, and international DJ lineup that the ASOT series is known for.

5. Fuji Rock Festival, Japan

Japan’s biggest outdoor music festival, Fuji Rock, returns each summer to Naeba Ski Resort in Niigata Prefecture, swapping powder for packed stages and mountain air. Despite the name, the festival hasn’t been held near Mount Fuji for years, but the original 1997 edition left a legacy – and the title stuck. Since then, Fuji Rock has grown into one of Asia’s most iconic music festivals, known as much for its forested setting as for its famously eclectic lineup.

The site sprawls across the resort, with multiple stages tucked into the mountains and enough ground to cover that dashing between sets can feel like its own endurance sport. At the heart of it all is the Green Stage, the festival’s largest arena, while the wider site plays host to this year’s big names, including The xx, Khruangbin, Massive Attack, Mitski and Arlo Parks. As always, the programming spans rock, pop, indie, electronic and hip hop, continuing a legacy that has previously brought acts such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Björk, The Chemical Brothers, The Cure and Kendrick Lamar to the Japanese mountains.

Dates: July 24-26, 2026
Venue: Naeba Ski Resort, Japan
Tickets: From ¥25,000

6. Summersonic 2026, Japan

Summer Sonic, another one of Japan’s massive music festivals, returns in 2026 with a milestone celebration. Marking its 25th anniversary, the long-running event is expanding to three days for the first time, taking place from Aug 14 to 16 across two simultaneous locations: ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo, and Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka.

What makes Summer Sonic unique is its dual-city format, where fans can catch the same stacked lineup in either Tokyo’s neighbouring Chiba or Osaka. This year’s bill once again blends global stars with major Asian acts, featuring names like The Strokes, Jennie, FKA Twigs and Keshi, alongside a mix of rock, pop, electronic and K-pop artists.

Dates: August 14-16, 2026
Venue: ZOZO Marine Stadium and Makuhari Messe in Tokyo; Expo ’70 Commemorative Park in Osaka

7. Wonderfruit, Thailand & Japan

Often dubbed “Asia’s Burning Man,” Wonderfruit returns to Pattaya this December, bringing back its signature blend of music, art, wellness and sustainability. The multi-day gathering is held annually at The Fields at Siam Country Club, with everything from sunrise DJ sets and immersive art installations to workshops, performances and farm-to-table dining experiences. And yes, there’s always something to do around the clock.

But 2026 marks a major new chapter for the festival. For the first time, Wonderfruit is expanding beyond Thailand with Wonderfruit Chapters: Kyoto, set to take place Oct 21 to 25, 2026 in the historic Japanese city. Rather than recreating the scale of the Pattaya event, the Kyoto edition will be a smaller, more intimate gathering that reinterprets Wonderfruit’s core ideas through Japanese cultural traditions and local artistry. While the venue and lineup have yet to be announced, organisers promise the same immersive spirit – art, music, wellness and sustainability-led programming – reimagined through Kyoto’s rich creative heritage.

Dates: October 21-25, 2026 (Kyoto) and December 3-7, 2026 (Thailand)
Venue: TBC (Kyoto) and The Fields at Siam Country Club (Thailand)
Tickets: From THB 8,200 for 5-day passes
