This is the ideal destination for hermits who want a luxury hidey-hole far from the madding crowd that's also conveniently located for the museums and city centre. There are no public spaces here, apart from the lobby and garden, just eight lovely and largely antique-stuffed rooms. The consequence of this lack of shared space is that all guests must suffer the privation of compulsory breakfast in bed, served on Villeroy and Boch crockery. One of Amsterdam's best-kept secrets, although we have a feeling it won't remain one for much longer.
