Ghana Fashion & Design Week (GFDW) is back for 2016. The international event launched in 2012, has earned its place on the global fashion calendar as an innovative platform for commerce, as well as championing development and advancement in fashion and creative business promotion and education in Ghana.

This year the event is themed ‘NEO AFRICA’ – in leading a new African Fashion and Design narrative. The event will welcome both local and global guests and businesses to actively connect, ignite new business development opportunities, and celebrate the important role design and creativity plays in our social setting and business space in leading economic development.
The annual international event provides a business platform for Ghanaian designer entrepreneurs, and designers in the Diaspora, alongside international designers to showcase their collections to local and global audiences, and connect to new market opportunities.
Through a range of activities, creative entrepreneurs will meet retailers and buyers of interest, influential press and media, and Africa’s fashion consumers, while creating the opportunity for international trade and tourism in Ghana.
GFDW curated PoPuP Trade Exhibition Salon also provides the opportunity for businesses to promote their company and further brand exposure through the event platform.
ETHIKHA, a social impact fashion platform at GFDW, is dedicated to ethical fashion businesses, social enterprises and creative designers with a social mission, sourcing and working with local artisans in Africa, and improving underprivileged lives by creating jobs for social and economic inclusion in Ghana and across the mother continent of Africa. GFDW Ethikha focuses on the use of African heritage craftsmanship skills to create sustainable and quality made in Africa products for trade.
New Talent Spot initiative at GFDW empowers and supports the development of best new graduate talents selected from GFDW university education partner institutions. Selected graduates are supported and equipped with essential business start-up guide, and business continuity support from graduating to becoming new Creative Business Entrepreneurs in Ghana.
