This is one of the finest residences in Takoradi. Set among acres of green lawns, the colonial-style house is filled with heavy dark antique furniture, a throwback to its past life as a Royal Air Force lodge for flying officers in the 1930s. The rooms, especially the executive suites, continue this theme – some have four-poster beds.
A short walk from the main house, the six bungalow suites are more modern, and all rooms have flatscreen TVs and wireless. The restaurant is good, with dishes such as smoked black peppered prawns in a fusion sauce, and beef with pistachio oil and raspberry vinegar.
All told, this is one of Ghana’s best, and most relaxing, hotels. Access to the pool for non-residents is GH¢40.
