Nothing lures Sydneysiders out of bed on the weekend quite like a trip to the markets. The mere thought of strolling through the lively stalls while tucking into fresh pastries and warm gözleme will have you sprinting out the door. Luckily, Sydney is spoilt for choice with weekend markets and among them shines the Cannery Market in Roseberry. You’ll find community spirit and the scent of delicious goods wafting through the air at this indoor gem held on the first Saturday and Sunday of every month from 9am to 3pm.
The Cannery Markets have become a local favourite since launching in 2018 and are now in the trusty hands of Cambridge Markets – the masterminds behind Sydney’s top markets in Watson’s Bay, Cronulla and the Entertainment Quarter.
Grab your reusable bags because there are lots of goods to tempt your fancy across fashion, homewares, art, jewellery and gifts from more than 45 local makers and creators. And you won’t have to shop on an empty stomach with gourmet and global hot food stalls, complementing the already fantastic lineup of cafes and restaurants at the Cannery.
Mark your calendars for the Cannery Markets’ next events on August 5 and 6. You’ll want to come early for fresh pastries from Tenacious Croissant or Shadow Baking, before browsing handcrafted textured art from Jolly Art; eco-friendly soy candles from Ivory Design; matcha from Halo Tabi; 3D pop-up cards from B Positive; gorgeous homewares from Johnson and Savage; and Australian-made natural pet treats from Rawpaw Pets.
