As the campaign gears up to make London the world’s first National Park City, we’re launching a nature photography competition to celebrate the city’s wild side. We’re looking for your most beautiful, dramatic, inspiring or downright weird shots of London’s parks, wetlands, forests, gardens, waterways and even window boxes. And don’t forget the creatures (humans included) who use these spaces every day.
Award-winning wildlife photographer Mark Smith will choose winners across the following categories:
Green and growing
Birds, beasts and bugs
People and places
We'll publish a selection of the best entries in the magazine. There are prizes to be won too, including tickets to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History museum, and canoeing sessions with Hackney Wick’s Moo Canoes. The best works will be displayed at 'The Making of a National Park City', a celebration of London's wild side at the Royal Festival Hall on September 21. Winners will receive tickets to see their works on show.
You can enter your photos by uploading them below or by using the hashtag #wildlondoncomp on Instagram or Twitter. Entries close on August 19 2016.
