Broadway phenomenon Hamilton is going national.
The Lin-Manuel Miranda-penned hip-hop take on Alexander Hamilton's life was already set to open for a run in Chicago from September, 2016; producers have now announced it will come to Los Angeles and San Francisco in 2017.
Hamilton will open in March at the SHN Orpheum Theatre in San Francisco and the Hollywood Pantages from August.
According to a report in the New York Times, it will then move on to other cities.
Miranda confirmed on his Twitter page that the the Chicago and west coast productions will be separate from the Broadway production, with new casts.
Three casts, three productions. Superhero Bethany Knox at Telsey Casting will be very busy. https://t.co/Ei02YrM7F6

New Yorkers hungry for tickets to the show may find it cheaper to fly west for the show—some resale tickets to the Broadway production are going for thousands of dollars—and less of a wait.
