Kunkare Okubo (CLOSED)

Touting itself as the only restaurant in the world serving 'smoked curry', Kunkare recently opened its second branch near Okubo Station. Curry fanatics have been flocking to the original Ningyocho location since its launch in 2011, and the made-to-order delicacy appears to just keep on truckin'. Different degrees of spiciness and smokiness are available, while toppings like smoked bacon (¥200), smoked veg (¥270) and smoked cheese (¥100) can be added as well. Exclusive to this Okubo joint are fried dishes like smoked karaage chicken (five pieces for ¥580) and smoked pork cutlet curry (¥1,130) – both sure to keep you going throughout the day, or give you a bit of a heartburn.
