First published in 1945, Wilbert and Christopher Awdry's The Railway Series books have been popular in Japan ever since first appearing on these shores in 1973, with a life-sized Thomas train even employed on the Oigawa line in Shizuoka last summer. Following a similar exhibit last year in Yokohama, the Museum of Contemporary Art now celebrates 70 years of Thomas and Friends with a display featuring around 200 original drawings for the books, in addition to model trains used for the TV series of the same name and personal items left behind by the elder Awdry. Looks like a fun choice for fans of all ages.
