Known as a resort for serious skiers, Verbier also packs a punch with its nightlife, although it’s a lot more relaxed that glitzier competitors St. Moritz and Gstaad. Verbier opens onto one of the largest ski areas in the Alps, the 4 Valleys, and offers excellent terrain. Thanks to its altitude, Verbier offers good snow certainty and has a superb lift and gondola system to ensure all areas of the ski region are easily accessible – it also stands out for lift access to off-piste areas, although do bear in mind that beginner areas are not readily connected to the main pistes. When you’re not skiing, there’s a packed calendar of high adrenaline events to spectate and the range of restaurants and hotels here has expanded over the past few years.
