Switzerland has 11 UNESCO sites – three outstanding natural phenomena and eight cultural heritage locations. For the first time this June, Switzerland will celebrate its UNESCO sites with a two-day event centred on the Old Town of Bern (a UNESCO Cultural Heritage site) and beyond.
Berne’s UNESCO-listed Old City will host two days of free cultural events, including an exhibition about Switzerland’s World Heritage properties and a World Heritage market on the Münsterplattform.
Switzerland’s other UNESCO sites including The Rhaetian Railway in the Albula / Bernina Landscapes, the Castles of Bellinzona, Lavaux Vineyards, the Swiss Alps around Jungfraujoch railway station and St Gallen are also putting on special programmes, tours, talks and foodie events.
