Knie circus

Still going strong after 97 annual tours, the Knie family continues to entertain the Swiss with its traditional circus featuring trained animals, acrobatics and clowns. Whatever you think of the use of captive animals in live performance, there’s no doubting the ability and skill of the animals themselves and their trainers. This year’s tour includes three acrobatic brothers,  trapeze artists, a troupe of tumblers, a pole artist and jugglers, along with a cast of horses including palominos, pure-bred Arabians and cute-as-pie miniatures, plus – for the last time, it was recently announced – three elephants, all trained by members of the Knie dynasty.
