Sentosa’s pioneering aquarium is still a big draw after 15 years in business. New features include an interactive stingray feeding pool, a marine reef display and Singapore’s first ‘fish reflexology spa’ (where Turkish spa fish nibble at the dead skin on visitors’ feet in a pool). The highlight is the travellator ride through a 83m (270ft) acrylic tunnel while sharks, rays, eels and schools of fish swim above you. There are feeding sessions, and you can even dive with sharks or a dugong. Admission includes Dolphin Lagoon at Palawan Beach, where pink humpback dolphins perform tricks in the water. Come 2010, Underwater World looks set to be dwarfed by Quest Marine Life Park, part of Sentosa’s new Resorts World and supposedly the world’s largest oceanarium, with 700,000 marine creatures in a huge lagoon.
