It's a Mongolian cultural immersion at Gardens by the Bay this weekend. Held in collaboration with the Embassy of Mongolia in Singapore, the event will see throat singing performances, contortionist acts, and a display of ancient scriptwriting. Running alongside Rhythm of Mongolia is Chrysanthemum Charm, a beautiful floral display that brings the gorgeous meadows of Mongolia right to our doorstep.
A key highlight of Rhythm of Mongolia is a performance by Shinetsog-Geni Dorjnyam, who is part of the emerging metal-rock band Uuhai. The band has been making waves in the European festival circuit with its intriguing blend of traditional throat singing and metal rock. In Singapore, come and enjoy Shinetsog-Geni Dorjnyam's throat-singing prowess backed up by his skill on the morin khuur (or horsehead fiddle, a traditional Mongolian stringed instrument).
Also, don't miss the impressive display by 16-year-old Khulan Serdamba. Watch as she twists and turns her body into impossible shapes – telling a story of bold girls from the steppe on a wild hunt. Rhythm of Mongolia is also bringing in Oyunpurev Nyam-Ochir, a calligrapher whose every stroke conveys the richness and diversity of Mongolia's ancient empire.
