Time Out says

There are intimate music venues aplenty in Singapore, but how often have you witnessed the artistic development behind a performance? Esplanade’s answer is Annexe Studio, a two-storey space that offers you a glimpse into the processes local and regional artists go through as they create, rehearse and perform new works. You'll get to attend open mic sessions and intimate gigs, as well as participate in workshops or masterclasses.

What’s on

Luna Li

Step into the ethereal as Korean-Canadian multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Luna Li brings her dreamy blend of baroque-pop, soft rock and glittery psych-folk to Singapore for the very first time as part of her debut Asia tour. From the internet-breaking harp loops of 'Afterglow' to the lush melancholy of 'Silver Into Rain', Luna Li’s music feels like stardust bottled and set to melody. Now riding high off her latest record When a Thought Grows Wings, she's set to lift you at Esplanade Annex Studio with her captivating blend of harp ripples, jazz flute, and gritty riffs.

Beach Fossils

Drift into a haze of jangly guitars and wistful lyricism as Beach Fossils return to Singapore after seven long years, bringing their signature brand of dreamy, sun-drenched lo-fi pop tunes to Esplanade Annex Studio. What began as Dustin Payseur’s DIY solo project from the New York underground in the 2010s has evolved into a four-piece known for sonic introspection and emotional clarity. Now, joined by longtime members Tommy Davidson, Jack Doyle Smith, and Anton Hochheim, the band is back with material from 2023’s Bunny, alongside crowd favourites such as 'Down the Line' and 'Sleep Apnea'. Expect a set steeped in nostalgia, raw beauty, and the bittersweet soundtrack of growing up – a night of shimmering chords and soft heartbreak not to be missed.
