Time Out says

Chew Jetty is said to be the more known and prominent one among the eight clan jetties of Pengkalan Weld. You can trace its origin back to the earlier Chinese settlements in Penang who built these village on stilts. Aside from being features in various travel television shows, the popularity of this jetty grew when it became one of the mural site for Ernest Zacharevic's 'Mirrors George Town' project that was in conjunction with George Town Festival 2012. The pathway to the mural may be crowded by an increasing traffic of tourists and street art enthusiasts but the delay will you give you time to browse the many souvenirs and quirky note books on sale on the sidewalk there.
