This classical music institution is strengthening its reputation in other live artistic disciplines. Throughout the 20th century it played host to large ballet companies from all over the world as well as classical and popular music concerts and operetta shows.
In keeping with its innovative spirit, the theatre has recently been hosting American musicals, pop and jazz concerts, as well as original creations such as pop opera Journey to the West and Sahel’s Bintou Wéré. Its annual Festival des regions gives Parisians a taste of the regional music scene. Tickets can be rather expensive but discounts are available.
