Taking over the space underneath the Palais de Tokyo formerly occupied by the Cinémathèque française, the YOYO is at first glance a truly snazzy addition to the city's clubbing scene, in the underground rave mold: concrete furnishings, huge bar, Berlin-oriented lineups. Even if this first impression is somewhat undermined by the fact that the venue also used to play host to ultra-rah cocktail 'n' champagne nights – a fact still reflected in the current clientele – it's still worth a visit for the invariably solid programming, which centres on house and techno but branches out into hip hop, funk and electro.
