The 33rd annual Mermaid Parade returned to Coney Island, ushering in the summer season in full force. More than 1,500 marchers from the five boroughs and beyond flocked to Surf Avenue disguised as mermaids, mermen and every mythological sea creature imaginable. The world's largest art parade was led by “Queen Mermaid” Julie Atlas Muz and “King Neptune” Mat Fraser. Check out our highlights in the photos below.
