Cities all around America, including Los Angeles, Chicago and New York, participated in the third annual Black Tie Beach earlier this month. Organizers
Improv Everywhere kept the event under wraps with a last-minute location disclosure. The public stunt, which has a mandatory suit and gown dress code, baffled unsuspecting beachgoers at Coney Island. When asked why they were outfitted so nicely, participants replied with nonchalant comments such as “I just felt like dressing up” or "I have a job interview later and won't have time to go home and change."
