Brooklyn is borrowing some spicy flair from Louisiana this weekend. In its fifth year, this annual festival celebrates the Creole people, who invented the famous jambalaya (a spicy stew of chicken, sausage, seafood and tomatoes) and Cajun and Zydeco dancing rhythms. The fest cooks up a grand Saturday supper and offers dance lessons, as well as fiddle, accordion and guitar workshops. The nighttime fun includes performances by Gina Forsyth, a fiddle wizard from New Orleans, and ZydeGroove, a band known for its signature zydeco style. Who knows, you might even get picked to play rubboard onstage.
