Time Out says

ABC Languages was founded in 1998 by Rachel Meyer and Elizabeth Zackheim. In the decades since its inception, ABC Languages has expanded its offerings to over 20 languages, and they have learning centers in multiple cities. ABC Languages is unique because of its communication-focused approach. They encourage students to speak in the language they are trying to learn from the moment they walk into the classroom. This method often leads to learning new language skills more quickly than you would if you were simply writing the language or listening to an instructor.

There are courses available in over 20 languages at ABC Languages. They offer classes in some of the more common languages, like Spanish, French, and German, as well as less popular languages, including Ukrainian, Polish, and Vietnamese. In their six-week Total Beginner series, students with no prior experience in their chosen language will learn foundational grammar and vocabulary, conversational skills, and basic sentence structure.

More advanced speakers can check out the Intermediate series of courses. These sessions meet for 90 minutes a week and cover more advanced language skills like formal and informal conversation techniques, speaking in different tenses, and building vocabulary. ABC Languages also has an American Sign Language program, as well as dialect coaching for film and television. Additionally, they offer private tutoring and classes for children between the ages of 9 and 16.

Students who have previously attended classes at ABC Languages frequently praise the instructors for being kind and patient. The classes are described as being low-stress, allowing students to feel comfortable to make mistakes as they practice their new skills. Many students also report appreciating the smaller class sizes since they are able to receive ample individual attention from their instructor. Several reviewers also stated that they would be back to take additional classes due to the quality of their first experience at ABC Languages.
