Time Out says

Block party at the beach? Don’t mind if we do! The 38th Annual Brighton Jubilee is a great way to experience all the fun of Brighton Beach. This year’s fest is expected to bring 125,000 people to the seaside ’hood for a multiblock-long festival with bands playing all day on 14th Street and several local restaurants offering authentic Russian food. You’ll even find a flea market and craft fair on the streets, along with booths from all kinds of local vendors. Brighton Beach may be unfamiliar to those who spend most of their time in Manhattan or hipster Brooklyn, but those in-the-know understand it’s a quirky-cool community with some of the best Russian food this side of Moscow, including the most interesting nightlife in Brooklyn. After the street fair, be sure to head to the nearby Tatiana’s for Russian cabaret and a hearty meal. A bottle of vodka is included free with your dinner. Really. It’s a mere two blocks from the celebrations and a perfect way to end a day of exploring this not-so-hidden gem of a neighborhood. Trust us on this one, comrade.
