Broadway ensembler Matthew LaBanca made headlines in 2021 when his same-sex marriage got him fired from his job teaching music at a Catholic school. His solo show explores that experience and challenges the dichotomy between religious faith and LGBTQ equality. Kira Simring directs the Off Broadway premiere at Nancy Manocherian's the cell theatre, where she is the artistic director.
