Willowbrook Park

Those with tots might know and love the quirky centerpiece of this park, a Victorian Carousel for All Children, complete with sideshow-style painted panels of island legends. For the more active,this sprawling space is a haven for nature lovers: In addition to ample woods for hiking, there’s protected space for wildlife; the five-acre, fish-stocked Willowbrook Lake tends to attract birds. The park is the nexus of six major hiking trails that wind through the borough’s Greenbelt and up man-made Moses Mountain, one of the highest points on the Eastern seaboard.
