Sabon

Named after the Hebrew word for soap, Sabon was born in a small Israeli farming town in the summer of 1974, when a couple used an ancient formula to produce a bar of lavender soap laced with local herbs, flowers and aromatic oils. Today the chain boasts eight locations in Manhattan, offering its full line of fragrances, creams, scrubs, lotions and, of course, beautiful handmade soaps. Guys can get pampered with white-tea-infused shower oil ($25) and aftershave made with soothing chamomile, shea butter and aloe ($30), while women can indulge with seaweed facial cleansers ($13), body scrubs made with Dead Sea–salt crystals ($30) and fragrances like Daily Perfume Aviv, a jasmine-infused eau de toilette ($32). Round and square-shaped scented candles ($5–$28) are redolent of orange, patchouli or vanilla-coconut, while scented drawer liners (three sheets for $18), festooned with sketches of old-timey beauty implements, and room sprays ($20) in aromas such as amber, linen and woodsy tobacco ensure that your apartment smells as nice as you do.
