Hosted by East Village beer bar Jimmy's No. 43, this afternoon duck derby pits both professional and amateur cooks against each other to see who can create the tastiest fowl-focused dish. Guests can feast their way through an array of plates—including duck banh mi, char siu duck sushi and Yucatán duck with polenta—created by contenders such as Hill Country's Ashley Fulk, East New York Farms' David Vigil and private chef-consultant Iris Mao Ye. Held in partnership with Slow Food NYC, the event's proceeds benefit the organization's Urban Harvest program, which provides food education for students at 16 local schools.
