An Oh Sees show is a sure bet if you like your riffs big, bad, meaty and pogoworthy. For the past 20 years, frontman John Dwyer has been churning out sweat-soaked, full-throttle garage rock with various projects, first with outfits like Coachwhips and Pink and Brown, then with his own group, alternately called OCS, Thee Oh Sees and now just Oh Sees. The band’s latest iteration—a four piece with two drummers—hit its stride this year with the stoney, psychedelic album Smote Reverser. It's among Dwyer's most accessible work, with crisp production and throbbing prog-metal grooves that provide ample fodder for the blistering live show. Now is as good a time as ever to get onboard.
