Rock Lottery

The annual Rock Lottery works off pretty neat premise whereby members of excellent local bands pick names out of a hat at the start of the day, get assembled into impromptu new bands and spend the day writing songs to perform in the evening. Cool, huh? This year, members of Guided By Voices, the Rapture, Swans, the Hold Steady and They Might Be Giants, to name a few, are lining up to take part. All proceeds go to Daniel's Music Foundation, a nonprofit that provides music programs to New Yorkers with developmental and physical disabilities.
