Post-hardcore icons Quicksand summed up everything positive about so-called alternative rock with their near-perfect 1993 LP, Slip, a record that brilliantly combined underground edginess with major-label sheen. Local shows in recent years have sold out pretty much instantaneously, which should tell you something about how well Slip and its ’95 follow-up, Manic Compression, have aged. The band returns home for a pair of shows to wrap up a month-long national tour.
