Three decades after its formation and long past the morbid doings that made it notorious (in summary, the former frontman committed suicide, and the former bassist murdered the former guitarist), Norway's Mayhem remains a blistering live outfit, thanks to grandly ghoulish vocalist Attila Csihar, turbocharged drummer Hellhammer and a lacerating two-guitar front line. Here, the band supports 2014's aptly named Esoteric Warfare with help from Swedish black-metal die-hards Watain.
