Possibly the largest facility of its kind in the world, the Kingsbridge Armory (or Eighth Regiment Armory) has been in flux for years, and civic-minded locals rejected a Bloomberg-approved proposal to turn it into a shopping mall. Even in limbo, it hosts occasional events.
