Joanna Newsom

The 21st century's pre-eminent (not to mention most idiosyncratic) harpist returns to the stage for the first time in three years with this week-long string of Harlem dates. Expect Newsom to reaffirm her singular place in music, indie and otherwise with a dense showcase of her signature traits: artfully swooping vocals, deft plucking skills, world-building lyrics and meticulous, knotty arrangements.
