WNYC's John Schaefer kicks off this three-night series devoted to recent works (which will be webcast live on child station WQXR). On Oct 14, the Bang on a Can All-Stars will perform Julia Wolfe's Steel Hammer. On Oct 15, the National's Bryce Dessner performs his own compositions, along with the Knights. Wrapping up the series on Oct 16 is the Wordless Music Orchestra, who will perform a new arrangement of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells.
