The soaring main transit hall of the World Trade Center Transportation Hub finally opens today after countless delays and $4 billion price tag. The new station will connect 11 subway lines, PATH trains and the Hudson Ferry Terminal, and its design is meant to evoke a bird in flight.
Now you can watch that bird take shape. The time-lapse below show 42 months of construction on the Financial District's newest icon in just 65 seconds. It captured progress on the structure from June 2011 to December 2014.
