There are many awesome open-to-the-public swimming pools in New York, however none are quite as visually stimulating as this My Little Pony-esque water haven at the Manhattan Park Pool Club on Roosevelt Island. A rainbow pool is pretty cool on it's own, but this body of man-made water is not just a place for sunbathing and splashing, or just a great, unintentional promo for Gay Pride month. It’s actually an immersive art installation.

This is the second year that Roosevelt Island Associates has commissioned local street artists to create an immersive mural around the summer hot spot (HOT TEA, RIA created the first multi-colored pool last year) as a part of a design by K&Co and Pliskin Architecture. This year’s work is titled Block Party by Andre Faris from Jackson, WY and like before, this artist used a range of bright colors to make the oasis pop. And we must admit, we're already fanaticizing about catching a few rays and taking a tiger snooze on one of those fun, vibrant lounge chairs.

If you want to take a dip inside this magical pool, day passes will run you $35 during the week and $50 on the weekend. Manhattan Park, 30 River Road (212-308-4040, manhattanpark.com).
