It's back! Open House New York (Oct 17-18) is here once again to unlock the doors to the buildings and places the public isn't usually privy to, and advanced reservations for specific sites and tours open tomorrow at 11am!
If you want to reserve a spot, book immediately! All reservation spots are $5, and many fill up within the first hour. Pro tip: The spots that usually sell out quickest include the Woolworth Building, Newtown Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the Cathedral of St. John the Divine vertical tour. Of this year's new sites, expect the Apple Cube and the other engineering tours, Department of Transportation tours and Google's headquarters to sell out fast. Visit the site and search for advance reservation events for a full list of what you can sign up for.
There are also many open access sites and tours that can be visited anytime during open hours free of charge, like the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Woodlawn Cemetery, Brooklyn Historical Society, Federal Hall National Memorial, Mmuseumm, Socrates Scultpture Park and many more. Check out all the details at OHNY's website, and happy exploring!
